Summer Time Here in Austin and a Shift in Perspective Throughout the Pandemic

Summer-time in Austin

on Film

I can’t believe we’re already in August! How’s your summer going? Weird question right? I think it’s pretty ‘off’ for everyone considering what we’re going through. It is super hot and humid here in Austin. If you’ve been here during the summer time, you know what I’m talking about. The only way to enjoy the outdoors after 8am is to spend it near some sort of body of water. That is exactly what we’ve been doing. We’ve gone to a friend’s pool, our neighborhood pool, Pedernales, Lake Austin, and even Canyon Lake. We like variety haha!

My hubs, Alex, got a new 35 mm camera too! Check out some of the photos he’s captured so far. There’s something about snapping a single photo and waiting to see how it turned out later. It almost makes these moments that much more special. I also love the graininess of film photography. What do you think?

Alex also started a lifestyle blog too. You can check it out here.

On that note, we had to reschedule our vacation to Paris and Greece because of Covid and the current travel restrictions. I’ve been super sad about it, but it’s given me some new perspective. All this time spent at home has me reflecting on our to day-to-day life. Before quarantine, I was in full speed mode, moving from one moment to the next without really processing the joys that came from each life event. I had been wishing and asking for a slower paced life and boy oh boy did it finally came to fruition lol. The Universe always seems to come through when you ask for something. I am truly grateful for this time spent with Knox and Alex. The beautiful redundancy of it all has reminded me a little of what it was like the first couple of months we brought Knox home. Can you relate to this!?

Anyway, once we finally get to reschedule our trip, we will be that much more excited about our much awaited adventure. If you want to see where I’m getting my travel inspo, check out my Pinterest board!

I hope you’re August is extra special and things begin to take a turn for the better during this pandemic.

XOXO,

Chenoa
